Despite the pandemic and the challenges that it has created for filming, the industry has continued to produce outstanding work across a staggering breadth of topics, and this month’s awards are the perfect way to celebrate that. The Webby Awards – also known as the Webbys – are the longest-running internet excellence awards, dating all the way back to 1996. The awards, which are adjudicated by the over 2,000 members of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, include several categories for video, such as public service and activism, events and livestreams, and public service and activism. The PRCA Digital Awards are the Public Relations and Communications Association’s way of recognising the industry’s best and brightest. These awards are all about highlighting the best of digital PR and communications, and video gets significant attention with categories such as “Best Use of Video in a Campaign.” Sign up by February 16th to be in with a shot and visit the PRCA on Twitter for updates.
Digiday’s Content Marketing Awards elevate companies that successfully take a modern approach to media and marketing. They’ve celebrated industry leaders like R/GA, Airbnb, Chipotle and more. If you think your work meets their high standards, enter the categories for ‘Best Use of Real-time Video’ or ‘Best Use of Video’ by the ‘last chance deadline’ on February 19th.
The Muse Creative Awards have been held since 2015 to mark the work of creatives in a range of fields, including agencies, production companies and graphic designers. In the video category, there are awards for dozens of specific sub-fields such as banking, consulting and transportation, and larger themes like Covid-19 and training. The awards’ Facebook page is a great place to learn more, and the deadline is February 25th.
Despite the name, the Telly Awards cover stories and video content on all of our screens. This year will be the 42nd annual ceremony, and they have created special categories to recognise excellent work conveying information about Covid-19. There are also plenty of awards for video on the television, social media and even immersive and mixed reality. The Telly Awards are on Facebook and Twitter, and the deadline is February 26th.
The UK Biddable Media Awards celebrate achievements in the competitive world of biddable media, especially on social media. In addition to categories for paid social and search campaigns, the “Best Use of Video” award is a worthy target for any video designed for biddable media.
