Established in 2003 and based in the UK, eCOGRA is a leading independent and internationally-approved testing agency, specialising in the testing, inspection and certification of online gambling software and systems.

Basically, they make sure online casinos aren’t mugging you.

So when they came to us looking for a shiny new video to top off their re-brand, you can bet the house we were in.

A couple of group brain showers later and our game plan was mapped out.

Capturing the core

The brief was simple – but was it? The challenge was, ‘How can we match the rigour and reliability of eCOGRA’s testing methods in our film making approach?’ Fittingly, the answer was by leaving nothing to chance, just as they do.

Specifics included:

  • Sell the breadth of their business to new and current clients – The services they offer, the things that make eCOGRA different, their heritage, experience and reputation.
  • Ensure integrity sits at its core – This is crucial to their business and a key aspect of inspiring trust.
  • Keep it consistent with the re-brand – It needed to fit with the new look and feel of the website.

After a seamless back-and-forth with the eCOGRA team we decided to use a mix of animated typography and stock footage to create a slick yet accessible film that clearly and efficiently outlines the services their clients can always expect.

The trifecta.

This is how we rolled:

  • Stress-free Scheduling – It was important to us that from the start the team felt informed and aware at all times regarding the project plan and process so that it could be enjoyable, (because why it shouldn’t it be?).
  • Style Mock-Ups – We presented different options to the eCOGRA team for each aspect of the video, from stock footage to typography to graphical assets.
  • Detailed Storyboards – We then produced written storyboards so that the weighting of the video could be configured. It helped all parties determine how much footage is required, where it fit best and how it could serve the narrative with other aspects of animation.

Client loves it.

But then again, what’s not to love? For us, work doesn’t get better than when both teams are aligned with a creative vision and that’s exactly what we had here. A super smooth process topped only by a super smooth video. Re-brand complete.
