Get technical

Your video production planning should ideally start when your conference planning starts. You’ll want to choose a venue that works for filming (with minimal background noise and advantageous lighting). And it’s important to liaise with the venue on their IT, video and audio set-up, as your video team will be working closely with them on the day.

Bring your theme to life

Whatever your chosen theme or unifying message for your conference, it’s important that it filters throughout all your event collateral. If you’re producing a pre-event video, then it’s worth making the theme central to that video. And your event video production team needs to be briefed to keep the theme at the heart of all content they produce.

Go for sponsors

Video can be effectively employed to help promote your event to sponsors, to thank them for their support and to help them promote the event to their own networks. Sponsors are of course key to the success of any conference, and it’s important that they are made to feel special throughout. Video can make a major contribution to this.

Make it work

It’s really important that your conference videos deliver value. Make it easy for viewers to register by embedding your registration form in your pre-event video. Or include calls-to-action in your post-event marketing video, to turn video views into leads, fans or customers. And measure engagement to identify areas for improvement for next year’s event.
